The Holy Week of Granada was declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest in 2009, a recognition that in Andalusia only the Holy Week of Malaga and Seville have.

During Holy Week in Granada, thirty-two brotherhoods with more than two thousand costaleros carrying fifty-eight processional floats cross the main streets of the city accompanied by more than five thousand brothers and waitresses.

Good Friday is the day with the most processions in the streets of Granada, six in total. On Holy Saturday, on the other hand, there is only one procession: that of Santa María de la Alhambra.
